“Vintage” wow, what happened to the time? 😂 Yeah.. I bought a Caad10 new and it’s still my road bike, mint condition. I keep it clean and maintained. Owned it in Florida and Hawaii and seen some miles with it. It’s still a great bike. It’s so good that I never moved “up” from it.

I have the 2024 gloss version and i find it fast and east on corners compare to my 2016 Venge Pro which is kinda heavy on cornering, tho the Allez Spring is really amazing bike that would not break the bank

I’ve been to two group rides in Weston so far and got yelled at while riding for novice mistake. I was a little ashamed but took it more as a lesson. I’m going to take this video and study it to better my group ride cadence for future rides. Thank you 👍🏽

I've started using Sprintech drop bar mirrors, they push into the ends of the bars like plugs. I still look behind before I pull out to make a turn.

I ride a Ribble endurance 725 with Shimano 105 groupset and rim brakes, Mavic aksium wheels and internal cable routing. It also has a carbon fork and steerer tube. A modern take on a steel bike. Love the handling and ride quality.

I love group rides, always can learn something from others and myself. But I get all that you're saying. So now I'll try to better my steadiness to keep a consistent cadence. The group usually lets me front run the first 5-7 miles, I ride to our meeting spot, they drive and takes them a bit to warm up. Usually I find myself ahead of everyone so I have to remember to let them get acclimated

As always great video. I am very interested in buying this camera. I have lost faith with my GOPro. That said would you do a verses video? Some of my complaints with the GoPro is overheating and not staying on for more than 20 mins. I have done all the adjustments and still not satisfied. Curious, what is a "post-covid cyclist"? I've been hearing this phrase used around. Do you mean people who newly took up cycling during lockdown or cyclists who took a break during lockdown/pandemic and are coming back into it now? Or something else?

I've been watching your videos and learning a lot. It's interesting to see the aspects of an experienced vs less experienced cyclist you point out, like body positioning, free wheeling, swerving left/right, speeding up and slowing down, distance people create in between, etc. that makes for uncomfortable pack riding. I would feel this intuitively on rides but it's insightful and helpful to have them pointed out and observe them. It was interesting to assess these in the last stretch of this video. Thanks for sharing your wisdom 👍🙌

Mercatone Uno in 1997 rode Wilier. Maybe its a 96 or 98. Also no Nannini on that team i am pretty sure.

Right from the start I disagree with you. When you say a century SHOULD be done in 6 or 7 hours are you suggesting that one SHOULD maintain a constant speed of 15 -18 mph to "do it right"? Nonsense! I SAY take as much time as you need, enjoy the ride, start early and get home before the sun sets. If it takes 8, 10 or 12 hours you have done 100 miles in one day and that is quite an accomplishment.

On shorter climbs I’ll count pedal rotations…4 rotations equal 1 repetition. A little mental game seems to work for me.

I had a carbon track bike and a carbon TT road frame I was always pressuring myself to go all out, because of the geometry now I ride nice and comfy 90s Japanese frames, just relaxing, biking for smiles, slower happier

Love centuries I done many can't remember :) Long story short 10 years ago already had done 130mil then a fiend of mine ask me to participate one that was a day apart So I did then few bikers ask me to get much faster that time my speed average 10 to 12 m so I regect & keeping smile @ close to 70mil 2 bikers had Dehydration a guess blood pressure drop wich later learn one of them was hospitalized. That brings a Shame to the team leader Of course to the 3 bikers who had insist asking highr speeds. My reaction was I turn around back home.

I picked up a hand built thorn Audax Reynolds 725 with campag wheels and 9x3 groupset inc shifters in brakes for £100 and it only needed saddle seatpost and some bearings changed. It’s a lovely bike to ride with 725 and relaxed geometry..

When wireless shifting and digitally tracking metrics with your peddles and health monitors isn't enough, there's always camera gear ;)
